Apogee and Sam Prebble of Trigger Happy Interactive’s haunting FPS Total Chaos is getting a New Game+ mode and disc-based release.
The Total Chaos isn’t over yet
Have you played Total Chaos? From Apogee Entertainment and developer Trigger Happy, the first-person shooter brought a terrifying tale to life, casting players as a lost Coast Guardsman, trapped on a mysterious isle.
Naturally, he wasn’t alone, with all manner of horrors hunting him as he drove deeper into the game’s haunting narrative. If you have played the game already though, then you might want to get ready for more madness.
That’s right, there’s a New Game+ mode on the horizon, set to tempt players back into the game’s brutal world. It’ll be no simple replay either, as this mode will actually introduce fresh elements, including “new narrative elements”. There’s more though, with a new Stalker, who’ll be after players as they renew their adventure.
Here’s a look at Total Chaos in action:
Along their journey, Total Chaos’ New Game+ mode introduces a new enemy: the Hunter. This stalker’s presence will be ever-present, adding a whole new dimension of fear to the game and increasing the challenge. Thankfully, players will retain their crafting recipes and gear from their previous playthrough… but will that be enough? New Game+ will be available as a free game update on all platforms in Q1 2026.
Apogee press release
Terror incarnate
Along with the announcement of the New Game+ mode, there was another big reveal today. As you probably saw above, that would be a physical edition of Total Chaos. This new disc-based version will be coming to the PS5 only however, so keep that in mind if you’ve yet to play.
There doesn’t seem to be a release date just yet for it, though pre-orders are open now. You can grab one via Atari.com, here, with a price tag of $29.99 USD. As for the digital version of the game, that’s very much posted now for purchase, and across the board.
Prospective players can get in on the action on Xbox Series X|S, complete Play Anywhere functionality, as well as the PS5. It’s also available for the PC via Steam, though the game is on the way to GOG and Epic as well. Look for that some time soon. Oh, and Game Pass subscribers are already good to go. Yep, it’s listed via Microsoft’s subscription service as well.
