Celebrate 5 years of Cyberpunk 2077

It’s been 5 years since CD Projekt Red’s Cyberpunk 2077 arrived, and fans can check out some fresh reveals in today’s celebratory trailer.

Cyberpunk is still kicking

We can’t tell if it feels like a half-decade since Cyberpunk 2077 debuted on consoles and the PC, or not. In one way, it definitely does, since CD Projekt Red‘s first-person action RPG has had a lot of press coverage. And we mean a lot. It was the talk of the industry from day one, and for a deal of time thereafter. That’s not to say that all of that talk was positive either, but you get the drift.

On the flip side however, there have been so many updates and downloadable-content drops, that the game still feels like it’s a relatively fresh release. Maybe that’s closer to the truth, since so much has changed from that original release, and the bulk of it’s been overwhelmingly positive.

In any event, the present day finds us five years to the day that Cyberpunk 2077 landed. And for the occasion, CD Projekt Red has unleashed a special look back at the game and its iconic city.

So, what’s next for this juggernaut of a brand? We all know that a sequel to Cyberpunk 2077 is inbound. CD Projekt Red is working on it right now, with a rumored mix of locations that’ll feature a brand new town in the vein of Chicago. Of course, we’re pretty sure that Night City will be in that mix too, since it’s a character unto itself. But as of today, there’s more that’s coming too, to bring the property back to fans.

For one thing, there’s a trading card game. Heading to Kickstarter next year, the Cyberpunk Trading Card Game will hail from CD Projekt Red in partnership with WeirdCo, and star a mixture of characters from across the IP.

Players will be talked with building edgerunning crews out of that lot, and going head-to-head.

The anniversary isn’t just about looking back. CD PROJEKT RED in partnership with WeirdCo posted a trailer announcing Cyberpunk Trading Card Game. Scheduled to launch a crowdfunding campaign on Kickstarter in 2026, Cyberpunk TCG lets players put together the ultimate edgerunner crew with characters from across the franchise and pit them against their opponents in a fight to become Night City legends. Featuring custom artwork, Cyberpunk TCG is designed for trading card players, avid collectors, and fans of the Cyberpunk franchise alike.

Hang on though samurai, because we’re not done. Aside from the above, a ton more in the works as well. That all starts with a special Cyberpunk 2077 5th Anniversary Collector’s Set that’ll be packed with physical goodies, plus new Displates, gaming peripherals, and more.

There’s also a deal running right now, for those who have yet to dive into the world of Night City. Cyberpunk 2077: Ultimate Edition is on sale for a massive 65% off of the ticketed price on “various storefronts and platforms”.

A number of new partnerships and products were also announced as part of the anniversary, bringing more ways for players to interact with the world of Cyberpunk 2077. Available to pre-order, the Cyberpunk 2077 5th Anniversary Collector’s Set gives players the chance to lay their hands on secret Arasaka tech. Presented in a steel case, it includes a light-up replica of the Relic biochip from the game, a USB thumb drive that contains the game’s soundtrack, three holographic tarot cards, and two pins. The Collector’s Set is available with or without Cyberpunk 2077: Ultimate Edition via the CD PROJEKT RED Gear store.
In partnership with Corsair, Arasaka Edition keyboard, mouse, and mousepad were made available for pre-order, bringing a touch of the megacorp lifestyle to players’ setups. 

Brand-new Displates have also been unveiled, featuring custom artwork inspired by movie posters, turning iconic characters from Cyberpunk 2077 — including Jackie Welles, Panam Palmer, and Adam Smasher — into would-be stars. Collectors can buy these Displates today.

CD PROJEKT RED has also teamed up with Viture to create the limited edition Cyberpunk 2077 Luma Cyber XR Glasses. These high-tec optics are available to purchase now at the Viture store. 

Continuing their partnership with CD PROJEKT RED, Madrinas has a new Cyberpunk 2077 collection with an anniversary cold brew and shaker set available for pre-order — for edgerunners in need of a boost.
