Metroid Prime 4 and more hit this week’s Nintendo Download

Metroid Prime 4: Beyond finally arrives for the Switch and Switch 2 today, along with a host of other big name titles.

It’s Metroid Prime for the Holidays

December is shaping up to be a big month for Nintendo Switch and Switch 2 players. This first week of the month brings a library of new games to the platforms, including some massive names. Of course, those are headlined by one of Nintendo’s biggest properties, Metroid.

The long awaited fourth entry in the Metroid Prime series lands to day actually, bringing Samus to a whole new world. That fresh locale includes a lost civilization to explore, allies to save, and powers that fans haven’t seen before in any Metroid title. If you’re playing on a Switch 2 too, don’t forget that you’re able to make use of the console’s mouse functionality. That should be a nice addition.

As mentioned though, Metroid Prime 4: Beyond isn’t the only big game landing this week. Fans can also grab copies of Assassin’s Creed Shadows and Red Dead Redemption for the Switch 2, plus Marvel Cosmic Invasion and Octopath Traveller 0 for either the Switch 2 or the original Switch.

Overall, there’s a somewhat smaller list of games hitting than usual. That’s not to say there aren’t some standouts though. For example, Blood: Refreshed Supply resuscitates a classic 90s FPS, courtesy of Nightdive. And anything with that developer attached is worth mentioning.
