Tekken 8’s final Season 2 character arrives with Miary Zo

The “Fighting God Reborn” has landed for Tekken 8. The latest title in the series has ushered in the last Season 2 fighter with Miary Zo.

Miary Zo, fighting god

Now, you might be wondering just who this “Miary Zo” is, especially if you’re a long time Tekken fan. Don’t worry though, the name shouldn’t be familiar, since this Season 2-capping fighter is all new. An original character who calls Madagascar her home, Miary Zo is a mistress of Morengy.

That’s a “traditional Malagasy martial art”, though it’s not the only fighting style she wields. Looking like a ball of energy, with unrelenting strikes and a mystical power, she also African combat techniques and a certain mythical power that looks like it generates all kinds of enhancements.

Here’s a look at Miary Zo in action:

Miary Zo embodies the vessel of the Silver Fighting God, a divine presence rooted in Madagascan legend. Prophesized by her renowned fortune-teller grandmother, Miary Zo was born possessing eyes the color of glowing coals and a deep fascination with nature and the wildlife that inhabits it. Her unique combat style draws from Morengy, a traditional Madagascan martial art, alongside other African influences and animal-inspired movements learned from the creatures she grew up observing. Accompanied by Vanilla and Cacao, two ring-tailed lemurs said to be messengers of the Silver Fighting God, Miary Zo channels joyful and lighthearted energy, treating every rival as a “battle friend forever.”

Bandai Namco press release

Early Access, with full launch later this week

While Miary Zo has officially landed as of today, she’s only for those who own the Season 2 Character Pass or Season 2 Character & Stage Pass. Not to worry though, if you’re itching to try her out, as the full launch for this final Season 2 fighter comes later this week, on December 5th. That release will be across all versions of the game as well.

As usual though, this drop isn’t just about a new fighter. Bandai Namco has also released her stage, which pulls from her tropic home. Baobab Horizon is the title for that fresh setting, which will be available as a separate purchase, and is a part of the aforementioned Year 2 Character & Stage Pass.

This update also introduces Baobab Horizon, a new stage inspired by Miary Zo’s homeland of Madagascar. Surrounded by ancient baobabs, vivid wildlife, and distinct architecture, players will face off in a sun-drenched landscape that celebrates the culture and natural beauty of the island nation and its ancient roots. The stage is available to Year 2 Character & Stage Pass holders and for individual purchase.
