Another PAC-MAN classic gets remade with this fall’s PAC-MAN WORLD 2 Re-PAC

PAC-MAN’s 45th anniversary year rolls on with a brand new remake, this one bringing PAC-MAN WORLD 2 Re-PAC to fans.

With almost a half-century in the bag, PAC-MAN seems to be keeping pace pretty well with the modern era of gaming. Bandai Namco brought fans a remake of the first PAC-MAC WORLD title a few years back, and has just revealed that the sequel is getting the same treatment.

Naturally, that game will be called PAC-MAN WORLD 2 Re-PAC, and will be heading to consoles and the PC this fall. But while this new release will present a full remake of the 2002 3D platformer, it’ll also be PACking a little something extra in the form of a couch co-op mode.

That’s right, for the first time in the series’ history, PAC-MAN WORLD supports two players. While player one will field the main PAC himself, player two can take control of a drone that looks to sport some interesting abilities.

Originally released in 2002, PAC-MAN WORLD 2 Re-PAC puts players in the role of the iconic character, embarking on a journey across PAC-LAND. Players will navigate through six unique worlds, with environments such as meadows, an ice peak, and a volcano, while facing off against the Ghosts and their boss Spooky. PAC-MAN WORLD 2 Re-PAC is a full remake of the beloved classic and features both new and enhanced game play, full voice acting for each character, new collectibles, and customization options. For the first time in the PAC-MAN WORLD series PAC-MAN WORLD 2 Re-PAC also introduces a 2-player couch co-op mode, allowing players to experience the journey across PAC-LAND together.

Bandai Namco press release

Look for much more on PAC-MAN WORLD 2 Re-PAC as we head towards it’s release for the Switch, Switch 2, PC, PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, and Xbox One. Look for that launch to take place in just a few months, on September 26th.

Pre-orders are open right now for digital copies of the game on Nintendo consoles and the PC. Not to worry if you’d like to lock-up a Sony or Microsoft edition however, as pre-orders for those consoles will be coming up at a later date.
