Nintendo Download: A Smashing Good Time: Donkey Kong Bananza is out now!

The first huge post-launch game is here for the Switch 2, as Donkey Kong Bananza leads the way in a big week overall.

While it would have been great to have had Donkey Kong Bananza at launch, the Switch 2 is nonetheless looking to have itself a pretty terrific launch year. After all, the big ape’s latest, which is getting rave reviews, is set to be joined by the likes of Mario Kart World, Metroid Prime 4, and a host of big third party releases. That cavalcade begins now as well, with the release of the aforementioned 3D platformer.

Donkey Kong Bananza looks like it might be a prequel to the classic Donkey Kong Country series. The story is still a bit of a mystery, but sends DK into the underground to smash and bash his way to fame and glory. Could it be the biggest Switch 2 release this year? Even with Mario Kart’s impact and Metroid lurking out there, it might be. Again though, it’s not all that’s arriving this week.

WWE 2K25 makes its way to the Switch 2 in just a few days time, plus the PAC-MAN spinoff Shadow Labyrinth gobbles up a release, and there’s the usual assortment of indie titles arriving for the original Switch console as well.

Use these different playstyles to turn the tables on your enemies and grow from prey to apex predator. Shadow Labyrinth launches July 18 on Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2. • The Wandering Village – In a world where mysterious plants are spreading all over the earth and emitting toxic spores, a small group of survivors seeks shelter on the back of a giant, wandering creature they call “Onbu”. Become their leader, build a settlement and form a symbiotic relationship with Onbu to survive together in this hostile, yet beautiful post-apocalyptic world. The Wandering Village is available today on Nintendo Switch.
