It’s Tony x Tony, as Tony the Tiger re-teams with Tony Hawk this July

Frosted Flakes’ Tony the Tiger is joining Tony Hawk for July’s Vert Alert Legends Demo, just after the launch of Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3 + 4.

Two times the Tony!?

Yes, they’re back together once again, as a second meeting of the Tonys is on tap. Some fans might remember the famed 90s television commercial for Kellogg’s Frosted Flakes cereal, where Tony Hawk filled in as stunt-double for that big cartoon cat himself, Tony the Tiger. We had a surprising amount of trouble finding that classic spot, or we’d have included it here, but we do remember it well.

And right along those same lines, a new team-up for the duo is set to take place next month, though this time seeing them focus on the release of the Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3 + 4 video game. If you’re reading this site, then you probably already know about that, as Activision’s big July launch will bundle together modernized and revamped versions of the classic Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3 and Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 4 video games.

As for where this meet and greet will be happening, that’ll be at Hawk’s “Vert Alert Legends Demo”, in Utah.

“I’ve been a fan of Tony the Tiger since I was a kid,” said Tony Hawk. “It’s been an incredible
journey, from originally doing stunts for Tony to reuniting over 30 years later, and I’m honored to
still be associated with the most iconic Tiger in the world.”

“We’ve been waiting for the perfect moment to bring these two Tonys back together, and it
couldn’t be better timed,” said Ryan Versfeld, Brand Marketing Director at WK Kellogg Co.
“We’re excited to support Tony Hawk with these unique experiences for the next generation to
encourage them to do what they love!”

How are those shots for some nostalgia-fueled fun? We have to admit, the one of the Tonys playing the new game got us.

While the new game looks great, Vert Alert should be quite the happening too, and will be free to attend for the general public. Look for that to hit the University of Utah, on July 18th and 19th. According to the press release, “both Tonys will hype up participants in the exhilarating competition – reminding us that each skater fueled by confidence is a gr-r-reat one.”

As mentioned, the event takes place just a few days after Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3 + 4 lands for both consoles and the PC, as well as Microsoft’s Game Pass service. Look for it on July 11th.
