System Shock 2: 25th Anniversary Remaster’s console debut delayed

Fans of System Shock looking forward to the sequel’s 25th Anniversary Remaster on consoles will have to wait a little longer, but only about a month.

Shocking

If you’ve been following along with the saga of developer Nightdive Studos’ System Shock 2 remaster, then we’ve got some kind of iffy news for you. The revamped first-person adventure, which has so far been delayed a few times, has apparently hit a snag of the technical kind. Well, it has when it comes to the console versions anyway.

According to Nightdive, the PC edition is still on track to land this very week, on June 26th, via Steam, GOG, Epic, and Humble. So if you’re all set to plunge into the teched-out world of the evil AI SHODAN on its original platform, you’re still very much good to go. If not, and you’re looking to buy into the title for the Xbox Series X|S, PS5, or Switch, then you’ll be hanging on for another month. Or so.

We can’t be any more precise than that, since the recalibrated arrival date hasn’t been revealed just yet. The developer says that fans can look for the console version of System Shock 2: 25th Anniversary Remaster some time in July though, so it’s not all that long of a wait regardless. Heck, it might land the first week.

Whatever the case, fans should be able to dig into System Shock 2: 25th Anniversary Remaster relatively soon, no matter the platform they’re looking to play on. Scroll down to check out the full statement, via Nightdive Studios’ X account.
