Look up, tickets are on sale now for Superman in IMAX

James Gunn’s DCU kickoff is almost here, and tickets are on sale now for Superman’s July 11th release on IMAX theaters’ massive screens.

Don’t mess with the S

Finally, Superman is just about here. From director James Gunn, Superman effectively reboots the DC film universe, into the new “DCU” era, with an adventure starring actor David Corenswet as the big guy, Rachel Brosnahan as Lois Lane, and Nicholas Hoult as the villainous Lex Luthor. Since the film is set to be such a big deal too, it’s only right that it’ll be coming to the biggest screens on the planet, IMAX.

According to the press release, IMAX and James Gunn have continued what’s called a “longstanding creative partnership” for the new movie. That shakes out to mean that, in IMAX theaters, fans will be able to catch the movie in “IMAX’s exclusive 1.90:1 Expanded Aspect Ratio”.

Continuing a longstanding creative partnership with IMAX, director James Gunn used IMAX-certified digital cameras to bring Superman to life with breathtaking depth, fidelity, and scale, capturing every moment as it was meant to be seen. The film is presented entirely in IMAX’s exclusive 1.90:1 Expanded Aspect Ratio, with director James Gunn crafting the film for the IMAX Experience®. From breathtaking flight sequences to character-defining moments, every frame draws audiences closer to Superman’s world for the full duration of the film.

Superman was enhanced frame by frame with IMAX’s proprietary Digital Media Remastering (DMR) technology, delivering unprecedented detail, clarity, and color. It also features a custom sound mix tailored to IMAX’s acoustician-designed sound system.
