Apogee and Trigger Happy’s psychological horror title Total Chaos gets a creepy new trailer

The horrors of upcoming first-person adventure Total Chaos have creeped back out again, for a brand new trailer.

It really is total chaos

We can’t really get over how shockingly different Total Chaos looks as compared to Trigger Happy’s first game, Turbo Overkill. While the latter title was an all-out action extravaganza taking place in a cyberpunk world, Total Chaos looks to be a relatively slow and creeping romp through a terrifying world that mixes traditional and cosmic horror.

In the game, which has a fresh look as of this week, players control a lost coastguardsman who’s trapped on a remote isle called Fort Oasis. This isn’t a tropic paradise though, as this particular island is haunted by… well, we’re not exactly sure what it’s haunted by, but from the looks of the foes present in the game, they’re out for blood.

In the latest trailer for New Zealand-based developer Trigger Happy Interactive’s (of Turbo Overkill fame) psychological survival horror game, we bear witness to the horrors that await deep in the desolate mining outpost of Fort Oasis. Total Chaos is a pulse-pounding, atmospheric nightmare that blends different eras of survival horror hallmarks — featuring classically-inspired resource management, methodical melee combat and gunplay, and haunting visuals with grotesque environments and creatures. Originally conceived as an award-winning total conversion mod of DOOM IITotal Chaoshas been reimagined into a modern standalone experience, amplifying its chilling atmosphere and relentless tension for a new generation of players.

Apogee press release

Horror fans take note, Total Chaos is heading to the PC (via Steam) later this summer. Virtual reality support is expected to land sometime thereafter, and a demo is out right now too, if you’d like to try before you buy.
