Try your hand at sword and sorcery title Blades of Fire in new demo

Would-be adventurers looking to get into the world of MercurySteam’s Blade of Fire can do so today, with a free demo for consoles and PC.

Great Blades of Fire!

While it hasn’t been on our radar for some reason, Blades of Fire is looking pretty sharp. From 505 Games and developer MercurySteam, the action title takes place in a world of magic and mystery, where iron is sacred and the ability to forge it, divine.

Players take on the role of one such smithy, a man named Aron who’s on a quest to remove the evil Queen Nerea from the throne. As it would happen though, Nerea is in league with some supernatural forces, which she’s used to not only dominate the world, but also put a stop to a man who she seems to have quite a past with.

Set in a dark fantasy world, Blades of Fire seems like it might be one to watch for action fans. And if you’re in that lot, then you might want to give the new demo a try. Available now for consoles and the PC, the demo gives players the opening chapter of the game to experience. Have no fear about your progress either, as save files will carry over to the main game if you decide to upgrade to the full retail edition.

Forge and wield legendary weapons, explore treacherous landscapes, and uncover the opening chapter of MercurySteam’s dark fantasy, an immersive world where steel has been turned to stone by the evil Queen Nerea.

This is not just a taste of what’s to come on May 22nd, but a full-on trial by fire!

505 Games press release

Blades of Fire’s demo is out now for the PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC (via Epic Games Store). As mentioned, the full game isn’t far off either, debuting on May 22nd for those same platforms.
