The visually improved version of the all-encompassing Darksiders II Deathinitive Edition is here for Xbox Series X|S and PS5.
Death lives… again
It has been a while since we’ve seen Death, the pale rider and member of the Four Horsemen that starred in Darksiders II. Last present in 2015’s Darksiders II Deathinitive Edition, Death has since given way to Fury’s turn in Darksiders III, and Strife’s starring role (along with War) in Darksiders Genesis.
You just can’t keep a good reaper down though, and it wasn’t too long ago that THQ Nordic revealed a further revamped Darksiders II: Deathinitive Edition would be coming. If you’ve been waiting to see what the new version has to offer, today’s your day.
The new version of the action RPG has landed on Xbox Series X|S and PS5, bringing a host of visual enhancements and improvements, and integration of the Dual Sense on the PS5.
Along with the open-world(s) quest that casts players as Death, the agile and deadly Horseman, Darksiders II Deathinitive Edition includes all the DLC originally released for the base game. That adds up to over 30 hours of play time.
All of that is in addition to the new game reworking balancing and its loot distribution, plus “reworked level, character and environment graphics”, according to THQ Nordic. As mentioned though, all of that comes along with the visual bumps that this new Deathinitive Edition offers on the Xbox Series X|S and PS5.
Those include:
- Stunning Visuals: Experience this feature and content-rich action adventure in beautiful 4K. Enhanced by the use of ray tracing and delivering vastly improved lighting and shadows.
- Haptic Feedback: Each one of Death’s attacks and abilities are felt in your hands with the immersive haptic feedback of the DualSense wireless controller
- Fast Loading: Darksiders II Deathinitive Edition takes advantage of fast loading, using ultra-high speed SSD.
THQ Nordic press release
Darksiders II Deathinitive Edition is out now, both physically land digitally, for the PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. It also features an upgrade path, for those playing on a PS5, who own the game already for the PS4.
