The portable apocalypse has arrived, as S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Legends of the Zone Trilogy is here for the Nintendo Switch.
Gas mask not included
Developer GSC Game Works has most recently been hard at work on a pair of S.T.A.L.K.E.R. related projects. For one, there’s the brand new entry in the series, scheduled to arrive for the Xbox Series X|S and PC. But then there’s also the Switch port of the recently launched S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Legends of the Zone Trilogy.
That set of re-presentations arrived for other platforms a while back, but the Nintendo edition has just popped up today. Included with it, fans will find the first three S.T.A.L.K.E.R. games, with Shadow of Chornobyl (2007), Clear Sky (2008) and Call of Prypiat (2009).
Things aren’t exactly the same as in Legends of the Zone Trilogy on other platforms however. Naturally, the Switch version has some tailored elements, and includes gyroscopic aiming and both a touch-enabled interface and controls.
S.T.A.L.K.E.R. takes place in a fictional Chornobyl Exclusion Zone. The nuclear disaster at the Chernobyl Power Plant in 1986 wasn’t the only one to occur, as the second explosion hit the reactor in 2006, creating The Zone as we know it. It’s a dangerous place, filled with mutated creatures, deadly radiation, and a strange, anomalous energy.
