Announced a while back and now getting fast and often with its roster reveals is Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves. Believe it or not, this is set to be the first Fatal Fury title since Mark of the Wolves in… 1999. It’s a little hard to imagine that a premier fighting series has been absent since the last millennium, but indeed it has. That’s not to say that the characters have been out of the limelight, since we’ve gotten King of Fighters games since ’99, but you get the picture.

So when Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves finally arrives in 2025, it’s hopefully going to be quite a happening. And when that fateful day does arrive, you can look for Kim Dong Hwan to be included on the fighting game’s roster. A powerful taekwondo combatant, Dong Hwan has also got a connection to the legacy games.

Voiced by Jerron Bacat in the US, and Eiji Takeuchi in Japan, Dong Hwan is the son of one Kim Kaphwan. And if you’re looking for a fighter to main who’s got some deadly kicks, you’ve found your man.

The son of taekwondo master Kim Kaphwan and a skilled practitioner in his own right, Dong Hwan proudly considers himself a taekwondo prodigy. His carefree, happy-go-lucky attitude following the last tournament, however, leads to a harsh reprimand from his father, quickly humbling him. It turns out to be the wake-up call Dong Hwan needs. Determined to one day surpass his father’s mastery of the martial art, the young fighter secretly embarks on his own unique training regime.

SNK press release

Complete with Kim Dong Hwan, Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves is expected to land some time in early 2025. Fans can look for it to arrive for Xbox and PlayStation platforms, and the PC.
