Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster coming up this September, gets new trailer

Capcom’s surprise remastering of the original Dead Rising is coming up shockingly fast, hitting consoles and PC in September.

This mall is dead

Launching about a year after the Xbox 360, the original Dead Rising was a key title for Microsoft’s sophomore console. It might not have been the most celebrated of games, but it was a hit with horror fans, providing hours of zombie-slaughtering fun. Of course eventually that same game would make its way to other platforms, spawning a series that went (so far) four titles deep.

Probably not at the forefront of anyone’s mind though, was a revisiting of that first adventure. That’s exactly what we’re getting however, as Capcom revealed Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster just a few days back. The remastering (though we still think it looks more like a full remake) will be bringing all of reporter Frank West’s blood-soaked adventures back around, this time for the Xbox Series X|S, PS5, and PC. But if you thought we’d be waiting a while for it, well think again.

Just announced today by the publisher, Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster will be making its way to retail this fall, on September 19th, 2024. Just a heads up though, as this release will be of the digital variety only, although it seems as though there may be a physical version on the horizon as well.

That went without comment from Capcom, but we can’t help but notice that “Digital ver.” tag on the trailer. So for those who prefer a disc, you might have one coming eventually, though it does seem like any physical launch might be a ways off.

Stay tuned, we suppose, and in the meantime enjoy the new look at Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster in action. The comparison shots are more startling than you might think.
