Check out C.F. Villa’s bloody cover for Blade: Red Band

Not that you’d have expected less, but the cover for Blade: Red Band is going to be blood and gore-soaked.

Blood red

A central figure in the Blood Hunt crossover event, which sees Marvel’s heroes go toe-to-toe with an army of vampires, Blade isn’t done just yet. A half-vampiric vampire hunter who’s been around for decades, the close of Blood Hunt will find the Daywalker starting a whole new chapter.

That’s going to start with a limited series, fitting titled Blade: Red Band. That name is of course in reference to “red band” movie trailers, which contain the blood and gore that standard mass release trailers don’t. The title will be from writer modern icon Bryan Edward Hill and newcomer, artist C.F. Villa.

Villa will be handling not just the interiors, but also will provide the cover, which has been unveiled today. Yes, it’s bloody and comes stocked with plenty of gore, and as Marvel has been doing lately, it’ll also be packed into a polybag to protect the innocents.

For years, BLADE has been the deadliest vampire hunter in the Marvel Universe. With an arsenal of wooden stakes, silver bullets and razor bats at his command, few have known the taste of vengeance of blood like BLADE! But after the harrowing events of Blood Hunt, what’s left of Marvel’s most infamous vampire? Did any of the vampire within Blade survive? Did any of the man? Find out here, at the skin-searing dawn of a bloody new Blade saga!

Labeled with a Parental Advisory and polybagged to keep those weak of heart from experiencing its intensity, BLADE: RED BAND will bring visceral vampiric violence to the page like never seen before.
