It’s been a while since boxing fans have had a great video game adaptation, but that’s what Undisputed is looking to bring to the table.
The sweet science
Why has it been so long since there was a marquee video game adaptation of boxing? There are some greats if you go back a ways, but we can’t even remember when the last big time boxing game arrived. And while the sport isn’t as popular as it was in decades past, there’s a still a rabid fanbase that might be waiting patiently for a little digital pugilism. That’s what PLAION and developer Steel City Interactive are hoping for anyway, as they get Undisputed ready for launch on consoles and the PC.
It certainly looks like it might be worth a little excitement too, as it’ll come packing 14 venues and over 70 real-world boxers, like Tyson Fury, Oleksandr Usyk, Canelo Alvarez, Katie Taylor and Roy Jones Jr. Fans can expect much more too, as there’ll be a full character creator and what sounds like a in-depth career mode. It’s there that fans will be able to assemble their own teams, train, and even negotiate contracts.
Here’s your first look:
Choose your path to glory. Make your own goals and define your own success story. Will you win all the belts, including WBO, WBC, IBF, or SCI, or retire with having the highest fan base? Or will you do it all for the money and retire on a fat stack of cash? The choices are yours – do you have what it takes to rule the ring and become Undisputed?

But wait, there’s more. Pre-orders of the Deluxe WBC edition will also come packing a steelbook case for the game, and pre-orders of either version will net fans the addition of Roy Jones Jr. ’93 to the game’s roster. That’s the year that the superstar won the IBF middleweight championship, don’t you know.
