Owlcat’s newest might be Rogue Trader, but the developer wants to remind fans that Pathfinder is still worth their attention.
RPG, ‘c’ style
A mainstay of PC gaming years ago, the cRPG is now resurgent thanks to the launch of Larian’s Baldur’s Gate 3. But although that blockbuster has brought the style of role-playing game back into the spotlight with plenty of headlines this year, Owlcat Games was already with that program for quite a while.
That includes with the just-launched Warhammer 40K: Rogue Trader, but also the developer’s Pathfinder games. The latest of those launched last year, with Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous, a massive cRPG that’s set in the tabletop fantasy world of the same name.
If you haven’t tried it yet, we’ve got some good news for you too, as this weekend is set to be a free one.
Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous is an isometric story-driven RPG where players take their own custom-created characters into the Worldwound to close the rift into the Abyss and bring peace back to a shattered nation. How this is accomplished (if at all) is for the player to decide. With 25 classes, 12 player races, and a neverending arsenal of magic and abilities, the story of the Worldwound is for players to write.

Active right now, and running through December 18th at 1pm eastern time, RPG fans can dig into the base Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous for free, via Steam for the PC. If you like what you play and you end up picking up the core game, Owlcat is also offering up discounts on both the first and second season passes.
Some of the DLC packs included in those “seasons” are on sale a’la carte as well, if you prefer to cherrypick. You can grab any of the DLC in standalone form, except forThe Last Sarkorians and the recently launched Lord of Nothing. All of the sales listed above will be available through December 21st.
While there’s no sales or free weekends happening on consoles, Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous is nonetheless also available for the PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and Mac.
