Cancelled in the face of resurgent Covid fears this past winter, Toy Fair will indeed have a 2022 installment, with the event returning this fall.
Fair
Things are still a little odd, as we come down off of the Covid roller coaster we’ve all be on these past two years. Toy Fair ’22 was definitely a victim of that. If you remember, the yearly event was cancelled yet again this past February, as fears of a surge surfaced.
The show was canned even though the London Toy Fair took place before it, carrying on as planned. And since then, other events have happened, all without visible rises in dangerous cases. So with all of that in mind, it looks like this fall will be the time, for the return of the Fair.
Toy Fair 2022 will open up on September 30th, running through the 3rd of October, according to The Toy Association. And yes, it’ll once again be held at the Jacob Javits center in NYC.
“For more than a century, Toy Fair has brought together global buyers, sellers, importers, inventors, licensors, entrepreneurs, media, and everyone else with a stake in the play business – a legacy that we will continue while moving forward with a reimagined show in the heart of New York City that best serves all audiences relying on Toy Fair to advance business in a rapidly evolving retail and manufacturing environment – and tap into New York’s unique position as a finance and media hub,” said Steve Pasierb, president & CEO of The Toy Association. “With the dates for Toy Fair New York 2023 now set, businesses have ample time to plan for what is sure to be an exceptional and much-anticipated show!”

“Anticipated” indeed, as the show serves as a yearly showcase for companies, selling wares to business both large and small. It remains to be seen just how many of those companies will be on hand for the event, as most of the big announcements will have surely be made by then. Though with the timing of just before the Holidays, there may be a few surprises in store.
Toy Fair isn’t open to the public, but stay tuned, as we’ll likely have plenty of coverage of what’s announced.
