Nintendo’s upcoming foray into AR is a heck of a lot deeper than you might’ve thought. Check out the latest from Mario Kart Live: Home Circuit.
It’s-a-real
When Nintendo revealed Mario Kart Live: Home Circuit recently, it seemed like a cool little gimmick. The game uses a real-world remote controlled kart to race around augmented-reality enhanced tracks anywhere you can think of.
All you have to do is set up the included gates and drive through them to set it up and start racing. But it turns out that there’s a ton more to it than just that. Enemies, power-ups, themed-courses, a Grand Prix mode featuring Bowser jr., and lots more are all included.
The full details are included in the latest trailer. Have a peek:
“Get your engines revved up for Mario Kart Live: Home Circuit, which launches just in time for the holidays,” said Nick Chavez, Nintendo of America’s Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing. “Whether you’ve always dreamed of turning your living room into Rainbow Road or want to prove once and for all that you’re the fastest racer among your friends and family, we hope this new Mario Kart experience brings smiles to people of all ages.”
