An all-new action RPG set int he Warhammer 40k universe, and coming from the makers of the Van Helsing trilogy, is on the way to consoles and the PC.
Set in that brutal, dragged down, dystopian, and blood-soaked world that tabletop gaming company Games Workshop has crafted, Warhammer 40,000: Inquisitor – Martyr is promising an evolution to the classic action RPG genre.
Neocore says that they’re planning on “expand the boundaries of the genre itself” in both mechanical and visual terms with the game, which will be a “persistent, sandboxed action-RPG”. That sounds insane and is most definitely something that’s got my interest as both an ARPG fan and a follower of Warhammer.
Synopsis? Sure, we’ve got that:
The single player campaign pitches players into a grim and secret war among the stars as the agents of the ever-vigilant Inquisition. After the end of the campaign the story continues in a colossal sandboxed game set in the same secluded sector of this vast universe. This persistent setting grants years of constant entertainment, gradual development and a continuous flow of content that enriches the Action-RPG gameplay.
Interesting, very interesting. It’s definitely a new idea there, adding in the open-world setting with additional content infusions, not something that you really see in an ARPG.
Fingers crossed, Warhammer 40,000: Inquisitor – Martyr is heading to purge the PS4, Xbox One, PC, and Mac some time in 2016.
