New Call of Duty strikes iOS platforms today

Surprise! A brand new Call of Duty, called Strike Team, is now available on iOS. And you might be interested in this one even if you’re not a fan of Activision’s long running franchise. Update- now with 100% more trailer

The game is a first for the franchise as it features a full-fledged, overhead view where you can command your squad as opposed to being in the middle of the firefight. Not that first-person shooting isn’t a big part of the title, as you can switch to classic FPS gameplay at any time.

Set in the near-future time period of 2020, the US is at war with an unknown enemy. As a member of the Joint Special Operations Team it’s your job to take the fight to the bad guys and find out who’s waging a secret war on the States.

Strike Team offers the campaign mode (which is almost two modes if you take both play style into account) and also has a Survival Mode where you’ll fight off waves of enemies in a battle of attrition. So kind of like a Horde Mode there I guess.

Call of Duty: Strike Team is a 1.3gig download and is compatible with the iPhone 5, iPod Touch’s later than fourth gen and iPad. The game will cost you $6.99 USD and also offers in-app purchases.

About Jason Micciche

Jason's been knee deep in videogames since he was but a lad. Cutting his teeth on the pixely glory that was the Atari 2600, he's been hack'n'slashing and shoot'em'uping ever since. Mainly an FPS and action guy, Jason enjoys the occasional well crafted title from every genre.
