Time for another run at Warhammer 40K: Inquisitor – Martyr. NeocoreGames’ aRPG finally gets its offline mode today.
Action renewed
It’s been a long time coming, but Warhammer 40K: Inquisitor – Martyr finally has the ability to play offline on the PC. The game, which was originally released in 2018, sets players in the boots of an Inquisitor of the Imperium, out to purge the Caligari sector of space of the forces of Chaos.
Not that Chaos daemons and their ilk are the only enemies players will face down, as the game’s grown considerably since launch, into quite an expansive action-RPG. And now that players can engage in an offline campaign, it’s a whole new game. Literally.
The new offline mode won’t allow cross-play with the standard online mode or seasonal play, so if you want to play sans net connection, you’ll need to begin your crusade again. Of course, that’s not necessarily a bad thing, as there are more than a few classes to pick from in Inquisitor – Martyr to shake things up, and there’s another that’s still on the way with the Hierophant.
By playing this class, you will assume the role of an Inquisitor who can call in multiple acolytes to form a squad. You will have to use your faith and authority to inspire your acolytes to carry out the Emperor’s will, manage them like a true leader, and teach the Imperium’s truth to all the heretics in the Caligari sector. We’ll share more details about the new class in the following weeks.
NeocoreGames press release
As you can see, the Hierophant is arriving October 17th, though again the offline mode is here right now. Again too, all of the above is only set to land for the PC edition of Warhammer 40K: Inquisitor – Martyr for now. There’s no word just yet on the new class or the mode’s deliverance to consoles, though you can click here for additional details via the official FAQ.
It’s not all bad news for Xbox and PlayStation fans though, as the Seasonal Journey (which allows for play through previously released seasons) and seasons 6 and 7 will be en route some time soon.
