Another Evercade console? That’s right, and the Nexus is looking like it might be the best handheld offering yet from the company.
We must be at the Nexus of the universe (or gaming)
Yes, another new Evercade is in the works from Blaze Entertainment. This fresh iteration of the 2020-released handheld console is dubbed the Nexus, but unlike the previous release, it’s looking more like a sequel than anything else.
The first Evercade handheld was released in 2020, though since then we’ve seen the aforementioned revision, as well as multiple spinoffs. Those include a home unit, as well as a bartop arcade. Even so though, we’re not sure any of them look as impressive as the Evercade Nexus does.
Fans can expect a 5.89” IPS screen, dual analogue sticks, wireless headphone support, five hours of battery life, and new multiplayer functionality for local play. Using the latter feature, two Evercade Nexus consoles can wirelessly link together. Users won’t need internet or wifi for that, or even a second copy of the game. The two consoles will simply link directly to each other. Honestly? That’s pretty darn exciting.
Along with all of the new features too, what you’d expect to see returning will indeed be back. Long time Evercade players will still get TATE mode, as well as display ratio and scanline options, cart ownership tracking, wireless updates, and more.
The Evercade Nexus is built to play with an ultra-bright 5.89” screen, the biggest ever screen on an Evercade, with a peak brightness of over 500nits. The new, larger design allows for dual analogue sticks, giving Evercade players the full experience of 64 and 32-bit games, and helping recreate the feel of arcade-style gaming in your hands. All of this in a new larger form factor that is still light and comfortable to use and travel with, and a sleek new look with a black colour scheme and a customisable RGB light-up logo.
Blaze Entertainment press release
New system, new game
As you can see in the trailer, the Evercade Nexus won’t be eschewing physical cartridges. Instead the lineup will be growing even further, with the Banjo-Kazooie Double Pack. RARE’s two 64bit gems will be coming to the system as a pack-in with the new offering, and they’ll be tailored for it.

Fans an expect the games to include “widescreen support, an overhauled camera with twin-stick support, support for non-analogue controls, unlockable content, and more”, according to Blaze. As usual with Evercade offerings too, that cart will come with a case and manual.
As for pre-orders, you can look for those to start tomorrow, April 1st, 2026. Fans will be able to find the console listed via Amazon, Funstock, “and multiple Evercade retailers around Europe and the US”. Expect some accessories to be available for pre-order too, like a hard case and a screen protector kit.
Speaking of, those extras are included with the Evercade Nexus 64 Edition. A special edition of the new unit, the Evercade Nexus 64 Edition will be available exclusively via Funstock. Not only will it include the above mentioned, but it’ll also sport colorful face-button accents, a collectible box, and “a numbered certificate of authenticity.”

Shall we talk pricing? Look for the base edition of the Evercade Nexus to be priced in at $199.99 USD. As for the Evercade Nexus 64 Edition, that’s limited to 2000 units worldwide and will clock in at $229.99 USD. Blaze is looking to ship both units some time this October.
