Nintendo Download plays ball with MLB The Show 26

It’s time once again for opening day. MLB The Show ’26 hits the original Switch console this week, along with a roster of other releases.

The Show is ready to go

Sony’s yearly Major League Baseball title is indeed ready for opening day once again. The title drops this week, and that includes an arrival on the original Switch. No, somehow there’s no Switch 2 version, at least from what we can see. So from the looks of it, fans who want to get their baseball to go, might want to have a look at it.

Naturally though, there are a full collection of additional launches happening this week as well. So while baseball is the big story, there’s plenty more to take a look at. One of those additional titles actually looks like a pretty neat first-person shooter too.

Deadzone: Rogue would be that game, as it arrives for the Switch 2. Presenting some slick looking FPS action in a roguelike setting, the title also supports the Joy-Con 2’s mouse capabilities. Always nice to see that included with a game in the genre.

There’s some retro goodness as well though, in the form of a familiar property. Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack members will be able to get in on that, via the Switch 2. We’re talking about Pokémon XD: Gale of Darkness, if you don’t know, which arrives for the Nintendo GameCube category of Nintendo Classics.

As for what else is out or will be coming very soon, there’s a lengthy list. You can check that all out below, in the official Nintendo rundown.
