DC reveals a redacted main cover image for Absolute Batman #20

While it’s not quite ready to be fully revealed just yet, fans can get a sneak peek at the cover art for Absolute Batman #20.

So what’s Batman looking at exactly?

We have to admit we thought the answer was a giant ‘R’ at first glance. But no, that’s decidedly not the case, as this cover is redacted, with a capital ‘R’. Get it? So getting back to the above question, well, we don’t actually know the answer. And for their part, publisher DC isn’t sharing just yet either.

What Absolute Batman #20 will be displaying on its cover is apparently a secret for a few months yet. That’s a while, but true, even though there’s a preview image and some copy that we’re posting in this article. Even so though, those two elements do come together to offer the first details on the title’s 20th issue. So even though it doesn’t make the complete image, if you’re a fan, you’ll want to check them out.

Illustrated by series artist Nick Dragotta, the cover plays off of those… events… that are yet to take place. And whatever they might be, said happenings will happen in Absolute Batman #19. So since that book hasn’t seen stores yet, DC has redacted the cover to issue #20.

Will this sneak peek let you in on what might be happening, as Absolute Batman‘s latest tale comes to a close and writer Scott Snyder slides into something new?

Maybe. Maybe not.
