Transform the Switch/Switch2 into a tabletop arcade with the Mini Arcade Pro

Switch consoles just got a little more arcady. Freshly out today, and just in time for the Holidays, is iMP Gaming’s Mini Arcade Pro.

Bringing the arcades to the Switch

We first told you about iMP Gaming’s Mini Arcade Pro back in August. More than a controller, it’s a pretty slick looking little gizmo with a fairly unique function. Users will find the housing stocked with a Ball-Top Joystick and a full eight button layout. And yeah, there are controllers that offer that, but the Mini Arcade Pro differs from all of them in a big way.

As you can see, this bad boy allows for the Switch, Switch OLED, or Switch 2 to actually be popped into its housing. That effectively converts the Nintendo console into a sleek little tabletop arcade machine. On top of that too, the Mini Arcade Pro also has some bells and whistles.

For starters, players can store a dozen game cards right on the back of the unit, for easy access. Pretty slick if you’re looking to add this setup to a place where you don’t typically store your games. Users won’t have to worry about losing access to Switch functions either, while their console is jacked in. iMP Gaming says that both Home and C Button’s are included. But wait, there’s more, as there is also a set of turbo buttons. Those might come in handy, and aren’t something that you see all that often.

As ingenious as it is awesome, gamers simply utilize their Nintendo Switch 1 | 2, or OLED console and within minutes, they can transform their portable console into arcade heaven, ideal for shooters, beat em’ ups, retro gaming and so much more! Shipping with a screen adapter to accommodate either the Switch 1 or 2, once the tablet slots in, players can go get gaming, working with the vast majority of Switch 1 and 2 titles, and featuring the traditional arcade feel of a real Ball-Top Joystick with micro-switched, steel shaft engineering, and authentic eight-button configuration Action Buttons.

Effortlessly easy to assemble (perfect for Christmas morning!), the Mini Arcade Pro is built to last, engineered from robust ABS material and features an integrated switch, dynamically changing the input of the Ball-Top Joystick (D-Pad or Analog Thumbstick).

iMP Gaming press release

We have to admit, we’re intrigued by this addition to iMP Gaming’s lineup. Arcade adapters were available for the original Switch in its run, but nothing that looked as good as this one. Also pretty nice is that price tag. The Mini Arcade Pro is priced in at just $79.99 USD, and is available now via Amazon, Argos, and “leading gaming retailers”. Just remember, you’ll need a Switch, Switch OLED, or Switch 2 console to make use of it.
