Superman/Spider-Man #1 celebrates 50 years of crossovers in March

The next round of DC and Marvel crossovers is officially dated. Superman/Spider-Man #1 hits stores in March 2026.

Superman meets Spider-Man. Again

A little bit of unexpected comic book news rolled out of DC Comics today, as we got the street date for what’ll be a meeting of the titans. That, as you might’ve seen, is Superman/Spider-Man #1, a book that will continue the two publishers’ crossover shenanigans in 2026.

The first of the modern meetups was this fall’s Deadpool/Batman of course, which was continued in Batman/Deadpool. The same treatment is scheduled for the next pairing, with DC’s Man of Tomorrow and Marvel’s Wall-Crawler. Unlike with Deadpool and Batman though, this upcoming title has some additional historic element in play.

You might be aware, but this won’t be the first meeting of Superman and Spider-Man. The two heroes met in a classic tale, which will be turning a big five decades old in 2026. So them meeting again, well, it serves a few purposes, not the least of which is to give a nod to comics history.

A cavalcade of tales, and covers

Like with Deadpool and Batman’s meetings, Superman/Spider-Man #1 will be fully loaded. The book will feature a series of eight narratives, hailing from DC’s biggest talent. Leading things off will be Mark Waid and Jorge Jiménez, with a tale that finds the two heroes’ alter-egos vying for the same big story.

Yep, like with the aforementioned books, it sounds like there won’t be any multiversal elements in play here. From the press release at least, it appears as though this book’s going to be in line with the classic crossovers of the 80s and (most of the) 90s. By that, we mean it’ll be playing it like both characters have just always inhabited the same universe.

When journalists Clark Kent and Peter Parker find themselves chasing the same story, the conspiracy they uncover could change the world—especially if Brainiac and Doctor Octopus have anything to say about it. (And we bet they do!) Good thing our intrepid newshounds are secretly Superman and the amazing Spider-Man. To bring this clash of reporters‑turned‑heroes to life, Mark Waid and Jorge Jiménez join forces to headline DC’s Superman/Spider-Man #1 with an unforgettable lead story.

And don’t miss these bonus stories in DC’s Superman/Spider-Man #1, all featuring DC and Marvel characters: Tom King and Jim Lee tell a tale of Lois Lane and Mary Jane Watson, Matt Fraction and Steve Lieber revisit Superman’s pal Jimmy Olsen…and Carnage, Sean Murphy takes us to the future with Superboy (Legion) and Spider-Man 2099, Gail Simone teams up with Belén Ortega for a look at what happens when Power Girl meets Punisher, Christopher Priest and Daniel Sampere show us a time when Superboy Prime (who reads all the comics!) decided to visit Spider-Man right after he got the black suit, and Greg Rucka and Nicola Scott take us on an exciting race between the Daily Planet and the Daily Bugle.

Plus, we finally get to answer the age-old question of who would win in a fair fight: Pa Kent or Uncle Ben! (Just kidding, those guys are too nice to fight each other, but Jeff Lemire and Rafa Sandoval will take us deep into the past to see the two men bond in the face of adversity.)
