The latest look at Matroid Prime 4 goes to a mysterious new world

Metroid Prime 4: Beyond is looking great in this new pre-launch look. Prepare to visit the planet Viewros, and get that scan visor working.

The latest Metroid Prime is almost here

It’s almost hard to believe, but Metroid Prime is indeed finally back. Or it soon will be anyway, when Metroid Prime 4: Beyond arrives for the Switch and Switch 2 next month. To get the hype train rolling, Nintendo is back with another early look at the game in action. For those fans who’ve been waiting to see more of the title’s gameplay too, this one’s got you covered.

The new video presentation, which runs for over seven minutes, digs into the mysterious world of Viewros. That, as you might know, is where series star Samus Aran finds herself after being caught up in an energy wave. The blast transports her to this uncharted planet, one that she must find a way to escape.

Not that that looks easy. There’ll be all manner of creatures blocking her path, plus a set of new mysteries to solve. Those include figuring out new powers, making use of that desert-driving bike, and ascertaining just whose fallen civilization it is that she stands in the midst of.

That’s the Switch 2 edition of Metroid Prime 4: Beyond that you see in action above, by the way. And as far as that edition goes, things look to be shaping up quite nicely. We haven’t seen much of the original Switch console’s installment of the game unfortunately, but we assume that if you have the choice, the Switch 2’s will be the version to get.

Fans will be able to find both of the above out and at retail on December 4th. That’s when Metroid Prime 4: Beyond arrives for the Switch and the Switch 2.
