Retailer Sideshow unboxes what looks to be a premium offering from Asmus Collectibles, bringing Snake Plissken to 12″ life.

Escape from New York is, we’d wager anyway, one of the most impactful cult classics from the 80s. While it didn’t debut as such, the movie has garnered a huge audience in the decades since its theatrical run. Heck, it even spawned a sequel back in the 90s.
And while there have been collectibles made in the likeness of the movie’s anti-heroic star, Snake Plissken, none of them have been as impressive looking as what Asmus Collectibles is about to unleash. A sixth scale figure, the toy company’s upcoming release stocks a real leather jacket and belt, a load of accessories, and even has a version with real rooted hair.
As it happens, that’s just the version that retailer Sideshow has featured in its latest YouTube unboxing. You can check that out below.
The name’s Plissken
John Carpenter’s classic film Escape from New York (1981) shows a dark vision of the near-future. A former Special Forces soldier turned criminal, Snake Plissken, is forced to rescue the President who is being held hostage in Manhattan – whichis now a deadly maximum security prison.
The Snake Plissken (Real Hair Version) 1/6 Scale Figure features a detailed headsculpt with an impressive likeness of Kurt Russell in the role. Hair crafted from wool fabric gives a realistic finish. The portrait also has a moveable eye, allowing for greater posing potential. Plissken wears a real leather jacket, a black vest, camouflage pants, and a belt.
This highly poseable piece has seamless arms and over 30 points of articulation for a range of dynamic display options. The figure also comes with a vast array of accessories including 5 different holsters, a radio with antenna, a wrist timer, a wrist tracker, a homing device, a revolver with scope, plus an SMG with a removable silencer and scope.

Asmus’ Snake Plissken (Real Hair Version) 1/6 Scale Figure is set to ship some time before the end of September. Even with that window coming up though, pre-orders are still open. That specific piece is priced in at $360 USD over at Sideshow, but as mentioned, there is a second edition.
The sculpted hair version, which looks to otherwise be the same as the one in the unboxing above, clocks in at $280 USD. And yes, it’s also scheduled to ship before the close of September.
