Fresh terrors arrive for Lovecraftian horror title Stygian: Outer Gods

In Early Access now, Stygian: Outer Gods as welcomed in a monstrous new content update, loads with a new area and more.

Up from the deep

Released onto Early Access this past Spring, Fulqrum Publishing and Misterial Games’ Stygian: Outer Gods brings players to a new vision of Lovecraftian horror. Set in the same universe as Stygian: Reign of the Old Ones, this new title tasks players with surviving the events preceding “the Black Day”.

Not that it’s just keeping themselves alive, as fans will also be tasked with unraveling “a thousand-year-old mystery”… and of course, keeping themselves sane. Though we think that pretty much goes without saying when you’re talking about cosmic horror.

Following up on the game’s April launch, Fulqrum has just delivered what looks to be a beefy new update. In it, players will find a new location to explore with the House of Mists, but that’s not all. Also on tap are new foes, a new weapon, and the game’s first boss battle.

As well as the new treacherous locations, players can expect to encounter new characters and monsters, quests, and artifacts, items, and a new weapon – as well as the game’s very first boss-fight. And this is just the beginning of the Eldritch early access expedition, supporters can expect to uncover a series of future content and technical updates, like new locations, monsters, boss fights, better optimization and game balancing and the addition of more voice-over talents.

Terror, now on sale

If you’ve yet to dive into Stygian: Outer Gods, then you might want to think about picking up a copy now. That’s because the Early Access game is on sale at the moment, via Steam, GOG, and Epic Games Store, for a cool 20% off the regular price. That’ll go up to $24.99 USD after the sale period, just as a ‘by the way’.

Remember though, if you do buy in, that the title is still technically unfinished. As such, there’s likely still a lot of content planned for addition to it, as we run up to the eventual full retail release. If you do want to buy in though, the deal will run until August 29th, so you’ve got a few more days to make up your mind.

And on a related note, the aforementioned Stygian: Reign of the Old Ones is also on sale during the same time period. That’s a much heftier discount though, as fans can nab a copy of the prequel for a whopping 80% off.
