The iconic Battlestar Galactica is coming to the PC next year, with a strategy experience that plays right off of the show’s themes.

For a property that’s as beloved as Battlestar Galactica, it’s a little odd that there aren’t more video games. We couldn’t even remember the last time there was one, so we looked it up, and while 2017 wasn’t that long ago, they’re few and far between overall. You can add one more to the roster though, when Battlestar Galactica: Scattered Hopes arrives for the PC in 2026.
Published by Dotemu and from developer Alt Shift, the strategy title will task players with managing the armada that is the last refuge of humanity. Crisis management at its most perilous, players will have to dal with in-fleet issues, as well as battle (and escape from) the Cylons. That’ll be the focus of the game’s combat, just like in the show, as the fleet will have to hold its robotic foes off long enough to jump to a new sector of space.
And since the Cylons will constantly be threatening your armada, things might get rough. From the looks of things, that’s where the roguelike design comes in. According to the press release, every choice players make will bring consequences, and every new run will vary in its challenge.
In Battlestar Galactica: Scattered Hopes, you command a fleet of spaceships fleeing humanity’s settled worlds, known as the Twelve Colonies. You must escape annihilation by the Cylons, a sentient robotic species that has turned against its human creators. The only hope of survival lies in reaching the mighty ship known as the Battlestar Galactica, but enduring the Cylons’ attack while preventing political dissent or in-fleet disputes from dividing your forces will test your ability to manage multiple crises at once – including identifying imposters that may already be among your ranks.
