Turtle Beach hits the Switch 2 with the officially licensed Airlite Fit

The Airlite Fit is back, and reloaded from Turtle Beach, as the headset sports a Switch 2 license and a fresh colorway.

Switching ears

You might remember the Airlite Fit name, as it wasn’t all that long ago that it first appeared. Or, maybe we should say re-appeared, since the headset for Nintendo’s Switch first appeared from PDP. That company though, was acquired by peripheral giant Turtle Beach. And it wouldn’t be long after, that the latter company would reintroduce the headset.

That actually just occurred a few months ago, and it’s no wonder why. Turtle Beach says that, pre-acquisition, the Airlite Fit was a “top-3 best-selling headset for Nintendo Switch systems”. But while that model has retuned to stores (now in Neon Blue & Red, White & Black, and Ghost Purple colors), there’s also a sequel to chat about.

Just detailed, the Turtle Beach Airlite Fit wired gaming headset will bring the line to the Switch 2. The headset sports official branding for Nintendo’s latest console, plus a Charcoal Black colorway, to better match the console itself.

“Working with our partners at Nintendo, we are excited to release our latest Airlite Fit headset for a lightweight and comfortable gaming experience, licensed for Nintendo Switch 2,” said Cris Keirn, CEO, Turtle Beach Corporation. “With proven, excellent audio performance at an affordable price, the Airlite Fit enhances the amazing experiences on Nintendo Switch 2 for gamers everywhere.”

Compatibility and capability

Now, just to be clear, all models of the Airlite Fit will work with the Switch 2 (or Switch). The biggest things that set the new edition apart though, are the branding and the color. So if being ‘official’ means something to you, make sure to check out that big Nintendo Switch 2 badge on the headband. Doesn’t get any more official than that.

Including a 3.5mm connection, the hardware itself touts 40mm speakers, and an over the ear design with jersey knit cushions. According to the company, those should work to block external noise. Naturally, that’d be a good thing for those looking to get the most immersive experience from their console. On the input end of things, the mic is noise-cancelling, to ensure “voice chat is heard clearly”, plus can be flipped up if you want to mute it.

The Turtle Beach Airlite Fit wired gaming headset in Charcoal Black is up for pre-order now, and will run $27.99 USD. The launch is coming up fast as well, with the headset hitting stores on September 3rd.
