We’re rapidly heading for the conclusion to One World Under Doom, as the Marvel Comics mega-event is wrapping up this November.
The next big thing
Big things are happening at Marvel Comics, and in specific, with the One World Under Doom mega-event. The publisher wrapped a panel at SDCC yesterday that was entitled the “Next Big Thing”, and it very much dealt with the crossover. Well, that and it also offered a tease of what’s coming afterwards.
Before we get to the latter though, there’s quite a bit to share about One World Under Doom itself. Still very much rolling, the main maxi-series will be wrapping in November, and bringing with it a conclusion that’s getting no small bit of hype.
According to Marvel, writer Ryan North’s conclusion will be a big one, bringing the downfall of Doom along with a mysterious event. That will be a choice that the Sorcerer Supreme makes, and it’ll be one with some big time reverberations.
Look for One World Under Doom #9 this November 5th.

Doom has confronted all of Earth’s heroes in battle – and he’s won. “The story is in two parts,” North explained. “[In the second part], you’re kind of waiting for the other shoe to drop, because there’s no way he’s doing what he’s doing without any consequences. So in the second half, you see what’s going on behind the scenes.”
“There is some stuff coming up that I’m very excited for,” he continued. “I know issue nine is the conclusion, but issue eight has some big stuff that I’m very excited about.”

While that’s the preview for the conclusion of One World Under Doom, there’s also a bit about what’s coming next. And that, as you might’ve guessed, is a story about who the next Sorcerer Supreme will be. If you’re anything like us, then you just assumed that the mantle would go back to Doctor Strange, but that seems like it might not be the case.
Instead of a straight up reversal, Marvel is teasing that there’ll be more than a couple of heroes in the mix. As to who becomes the next mystic protector it in the end is still a mystery, though the preview image in the gallery above will give you an idea of the candidates.
