Turtle Beach goes bananas with new Donkey Kong Switch controller

Ready to bring the jungle to Switch (and Switch 2) fans is the Turtle Beach Rematch Wireless Controller: Donkey Kong.

It’s a big week for Donkey Kong fans, all things considered. Not only has Donkey Kong Bananza arrived for play on the Switch 2 console, but there’s also a new and fully licensed controller offering from veteran peripheral company, Turtle Beach.

The Turtle Beach Rematch Wireless Controller: Donkey Kong looks to be one slick pad too, serving up a green and black color scheme splashed with adventurous artwork of both DK and Diddy Kong. But we’re not just talking about a static image here, as the controller is actually lenticular in design. And yes, that means it changes as you move it.

“Our officially licensed by Nintendo controllers are designed for passionate fans who love the iconic characters, immersive worlds, and legendary games Nintendo is known for,” said Cris Keirn, CEO, Turtle Beach Corporation. “Our new Donkey Kong-themed wireless controller is packed with features for a standout experience, combining motion control support with dynamic artwork that reveals different Donkey Kong visuals depending on the viewing angle.”

Turtle Beach press release

On top of the visuals, the Turtle Beach Rematch Wireless Controller: Donkey Kong is just what the name says, wireless, and it’s also compatible with the full collection of Switch consoles. So whether you have an original Switch, an OLED, a Switch Lite, or a Switch 2, you’ll be able to make use of it.

Just be advised that, if you’ll be using it with the Switch 2, there’s no ‘C’ button (which activates Game Chat) present on this little guy. Other than that though, it sounds like players can expect full functionality out of it, right down to the built-in motion controls.

The Turtle Beach Rematch Wireless Controller: Donkey Kong is available for pre-order now, from both Turtle Beach’s online shop and additional retailers. It officially launches into stores this October 12th, and is priced in at $59.99 USD.
