The Absolute Universe is about to get a little more evil, with an Absolute Evil one-shot. But don’t worry, because Batman will be there too.
Injustice gang?
Big things are being set up for the Absolute Universe, DC Comics’ hit spinoff brand, as a part of the “All In” initiative from the publisher. This fall will see a pair of one-shots debut to that end, alongside the usual assortment of ongoing series’, which will be expanding the fledgling U’s lore in what could be some huge ways.
The first of those will be Absolute Evil #1, from Al Ewing, Giuseppe Camuncoli, and Stefano Nesia. That particular title will bring together a cabal of the AU’s wickedest villains that include Ra’s al Ghul, Joker, Elenore Thawne, and more. The reason? They’ll be putting aside their differences and individual motivations for a common goal. Naturally though, there’s a viper in their midst. We have our own guess on who that might be, but it’s admittedly an obvious pick, so we’re probably way off with it.
As for the second drop, that’d be the Absolute Batman Annual #1. Daniel Warren Johnson, James Harren, and Meredith McClaren take up the reigns for that, telling a tale that recalls the earliest days of Absolute Bruce Wayne’s crusade. Expect Black Mask’s crew to play a huge part in a story that will also showcase just how it was that Batman came to possess his Batmobile.
Absolute Evil #1
On sale October 1, 2025, Absolute Evil #1 will feature a story about the rising tide of villainy in the Absolute Universe, written by Al Ewing, with art and main cover by Giuseppe Camuncoli and Stefano Nesi. Variant covers will be provided by Fabrizio De Tommaso, Gerald Parel, Dustin Nguyen, and Riley Rossmo, with a foil variant cover also illustrated by Rossmo.
In Absolute Evil, Ra’s al Ghul, Veronica Cale, Hector Hammond, Elenore Thawne, and the mysterious Joker are no longer working at cross-purposes. Together, they’re aligned, united, and dangerous. But an insidious betrayal from within threatens to unravel everything they’ve built.
This one-shot special issue features the introduction of not one but two major Absolute characters who will change the course of the Absolute Universe in its second year, and is unmissable for all fans of this red-hot publishing line!

Absolute Batman 2025 Annual #1
On sale October 29, 2025, Absolute Batman 2025 Annual #1 will feature stories about Absolute Batman written and drawn by Daniel Warren Johnson, James Harren, and Meredith McClaren. The ongoing Absolute onslaught continues
As mentioned above, the twin one-shots are just the spotlighted titles that’ll be hitting stores this October. DC’s Absolute line is absolutely rolling otherwise as well, with Batman, Superman, and Wonder Woman, but you can also add Flash and Green Lantern to the roster.
For those eagerly awaiting its return as well, Absolute Martian Manhunter fans needn’t worry, as that book returns in December.
Absolute Batman #13
On sale October 8, 2025, Absolute Batman #13 will feature a story written by Scott Snyder with art and main cover by Nick Dragotta. The issue will also feature variant covers by Stanley “Artgerm” Lau, Jenny Frison, Adam Hughes, and Brian Bolland, with a foil “Artgerm” variant and ratio variants by David Nakayama (1:25) and Nick Dragotta (1:50).
