All your gorilla-related questions and ape queries may be answered this week, as Nintendo launches a special Donkey Kong Bananza Direct.

One of the Switch 2’s marquee games for the console’s 2025 launch year, Donkey Kong Bananza is so far looking pretty great. With the series’ signature cartoony look relatively intact and the Switch 2’s vastly improved graphical performance, this new kong-quest is looking like it might be the headliner for Nintendo’s newest system.

We have to say “might” there, since we don’t really know all that much about the game, despite seeing it in action over the Switch 2’s announce-week. Sure, we saw DK smashing levels all to bits, collecting bananas, and tackling enemies (and whistling), but we don’t know really anything about the story, or the finer points of gameplay.

Well, if you’ve been waiting patiently for a deeper dive into Donkey Kong Bananza, your week has come. That’s because Nintendo has just revealed that a special Nintendo Direct will be taking place this Wednesday, and it’ll be all about the big guy.
