Return for more tank warfare in Spearhead 2, coming soon to PC

Microprose is bringing another classic property back to life with Spearhead 2, a sequel to the 90s PC tank combat title.

Line ’em up and fire away

Publisher Microprose has definitely been busy since its rebirth, delivering both new titles for PC players, along with rebirths for some classic properties. The company’s latest falls into the latter of those categories, harkening all the way back to 1998 and tank combat sim Spearhead.

The just revealed Spearhead 2 will continue that line, delivering a sequel that promises to put players in the seats of tanks, IFVs, and APCs. Using those weapons of war, fans will engage in missions across the destructible battlefields of both Europe and the Middle East. Microprose says that missions will be playable solo or with ” tight-knit multiplayer crews” too.

Here’s a first look at it in action:

  • Modern Armored Warfare: Command tanks, IFVs, and APCs with highly detailed interiors, realistic vehicle handling, and fully operational weapon systems.
  • Immersive Combat Zones: Engage across varied European and Middle Eastern environments—ruined cities, scorched deserts, and more—with destructible terrain and evolving mission objectives.
  • Co-op Focused Gameplay: Squad up with up to 16 players in tense, objective-driven missions where survival depends on teamwork and communication.
  • Diverse Mission Types: Tackle challenges including convoy ambushes, base defense, urban clearance, and high-value target elimination.
  • Maintenance & Logistics System: Keep your vehicle combat-ready with in-field repair mechanics and support elements.
MIcroprose press release

There’s no release date just yet for Spearhead 2, but Microprose says fans can look for it some time soon on the PC (via Steam).
