Get a good look at Hot Toys’ upcoming Droideka from Star Wars: Episode 1

Rolling into Hot Toys’ Star Wars lineup some time this year, get a first look at the Droideka, straight from Star Wars: Episode 1.

Get it, “rolling”

One of the more impressive troop-type droids from any era of Star Wars, the Droideka made an immediate impact when it hit the silver screen in Star Wars: Episode 1 – The Phantom Menace. Not only was this beast of a droid armed to the metallic teeth, but it also had its own shield and could transform into a highly mobile form. Now collectible company Hot Toys is aiming to bring the bots to fans, via the latest addition to its Star Wars movie collection.

One of the biggest figures that Hot Toys has ever brought to life, retailer Sideshow has shared one of its deep dives into the piece. And while the Droideka is not exactly accessory-loaded, it’s pretty easily still one of the most impressive droids that the company has produced. Oh, and yes, you can actually transform it.

In celebration of the 25th anniversary of Star Wars: The Phantom Menace™, Hot Toys brings the deadly destroyer droids to life in stunning detail with the Droideka™ 1/6 Scale Collectible Figure. Highly articulated with a poseble head, blaster arms, and grasper legs, the Droideka™ 1/6 Scale Figure can also be transformed into its disk-shaped form. Standing at approximately 13 inches tall, this meticulously crafted figure is intricately detailed with wired tubes and a weathered metallic copper finish.

Prepare for battle! The Droideka™ 1/6 Scale Collectible Figure by Hot Toys is available to pre-order now from Sideshow.

Sideshow press release

Hot Toys’ Droideka is aiming to ship some time between now and this September, and is still up for pre-order via Sideshow. It’s priced in at $265 USD.
