Get ready to go deep into a world of lost civilizations, arcane gods, and high-powered ancient weaponry. This is co-op FPS Abyssus.
Staring into the abyss
Debuting a fresh look at its gameplay is Abyssus, the upcoming co-op (or solo) first-person shooter from The Arcade Crew and developer DoubleMoose Games. The deeper dive into the game’s play showcases a host of unique elements that combine to create a highly-adaptable arsenal.
Sure, there’s a pistol, a machine gun, and a shotgun, but each one can be enhanced with alt-modes and blessings from mysterious forces. Wielding the Combat Bow? How about loading up with explosive arrows? Or maybe bouncing ones? Prefer the Disc Thrower with its razor sharp projectiles? What about it those discs cast lighting as they flew? Those are just some of the options that Abyssus gives players.
You’ll need every bit of them too, if you’re going to survive the trip to the game’s briny depths. It’s there that players will become a Brinehunter, and find themselves ensconced within the ruins of a long-forgotten civilization.
In Abyssus, Brinehunters are sent to scour the ocean floor to investigate a powerful electromagnetic source, a journey leading the crew to an ancient, sunken city. Explore the ruins of this forgotten civilization to discover its secrets while fighting through corrupted hordes of enemies with weapons made of ancient tech that deliver responsive feedback, making each shot feel precise and impactful.
Amid high-octane multiplayer action, the Brinehunters must utilize the vast weapon modifications and ancient artifacts to adjust their playstyle to stay alive and return to the surface. Explorers can enter the abyss solo or venture in with up to three friends in co-op. The rewarding progression loop will satisfy veterans of the genre while remaining accessible to newcomers, both of whom will find themselves sinking countless hours into obtaining every mod, artifact and ability hidden throughout the fascinating and dangerous civilization.
