Good and evil take the battlefield in Ubisoft’s latest installment of an iconic strategy series, with Heroes of Might & Magic: Olden Era.
The Heroes are back
The classic strategy property is back once again, this time with Ubisoft’s Heroes of Might & Magic: Olden Era. The name alone is probably enough to get some strategy fans pumped, and the first-look (cinematic) trailer should only serve to amp them up further.
Heroes of Might & Magic: Olden Era will present players with six factions, which they’ll field in battles across the mystic world of Enroth. There they’ll via for supremacy, waging turn-based warfare in random skirmish maps, a single-player campaign, and both online and “hot seat” multiplayer modes.
Here’s your first look:
Heroes of Might and Magic: Olden Era is coming to Steam in Early Access this summer, and aspiring adventurers can wishlist it now to be alerted when it releases. The new installment in the turn-based strategy series takes place in the vibrant fantasy world of Enroth, where players will recruit heroes to explore the continent of Jadame and raise armies to battle in the struggle to determine its future. Olden Era features six unique factions, a single-player campaign, and several multiplayer modes allowing you to venture alongside or clash with other players, including Hotseat mode for local multiplayer fun. Furthermore, players can set out into the unknown on randomly generated maps, and take advantage of the map editor to create worlds of their own – or experience those created by other players.
Ubisoft press release
There’s no word on exactly when Heroes of Might & Magic: Olden Era will hit retail, but Ubisoft says to expect it to come to Early Access first. That arrival will be some time this summer, via Steam for the PC. In the meantime, make sure to check out the game’s Steam page for a better look at gameplay.
