Nintendo Download: A Legendary Return

Lots of Pokémon highlight this week’s Nintendo Download, with the annual Pokémon Day event, plus the return of Suikoden.

It’s a real celebration

Now, just to be clear, there isn’t anything new for Pokémon fans to play this week on the Switch. The next game in the series is still a ways off with Pokémon Legends: Z-A, which is launching later this year. But that’s not to say there’s nothing to do for Pokémon Day 2025. Nintendo has “in-game giveaways and events” for Pokémon Scarlet and Violet. And if you’ve yet to catch ’em all across the Switch’s library, don’t forget that both New Pokémon Snap and Pokémon Legends: Arceus are available now.

This edition of the Download also brings a pre-order for another blast from the past, with Suikoden. JRPG fans will be able to dig into Suikoden I&II HD Remaster Gate Rune and Dunan Unification Wars next week, bringing Konami’s iconic role-player back from the abyss for Nintendo’s current console.

Along with the usual assortment of additional releases, this week also brings Carmen Sandiego, Glover (QUByte Classics), and even a little Yu-Gi-Oh!.
