The final version of Emberheart Games’ fantasy retro-FPS is still coming to PC soon, but Wizordum will need just a lil’ more time.
It’s magic
When it comes to upcoming first-person shooters, we’re particularly excited about Wizordum. From Emberheart Games and publisher Apogee, Wizordum casts players in the role of a mage who can wield both weapons and magic. It’s also set firmly in the fantasy genre, which is a reason in and of itself to get pumped. That’s far from something that you see much of in the present age, after all.
Originally, we were expecting to see the final version of the game, which includes the long-awaited third episode, emerge from Early Access this March. That ultimate stretch of the adventure’s campaign is set to include both fire and ice themed levels, and even has a mine-cart ride, that’ll see players squishing foes under their wheels of steel.
Combat the chilling elements and fiery foes in Wizordum’s final episode, which leads one of the last surviving mages through seven new levels in a quest to purge Chaos once and for all.
Apogee press release
While that all looks great, as noted above, fantasy fans can unfortunately forget about that March release window. Apogee says that the game’s third act needs a little more “mana”, and so it’s just been slapped with a delay. Don’t worry too much though, since that push-back is only for a few weeks, with Wizordum now being on track for a Steam launch on April 16th, 2025.
