The Mask: The Animated Series returns for a season one collected edition

The 90s animated series starring The Mask is back, as The Complete First Season is coming to digital platforms.

Somebody stop me!

A hit on the big screen back 1994, The Mask was more than just a Jim Carrey vehicle. The action/comedy adapted the contemporary (and much darker) Dark Horse comic series, which was pretty popular, and it featured an incredible array of special effects. It also made enough of a splash that it spawned both a toy line and an animated series debuting the very next year.

Fairly successful as well, the kids show wasn’t a one hit wonder either, running for several seasons. If you were a fan, then you might be happy to know that Warner Bros Discovery has launched the show onto digital storefronts, with The Mask: The Animated Series – The Complete First Season.

When he dons an ancient Nordic mask, Stanley Ipkiss moves at warp speed, knows your every desire, satisfies your every whim and dances like Fred Astaire, Gumby and Barishnikov combined. He’s s-s-s-smokin’! Based on the film The Mask, this animated series tells the story of sweet, socially inept bank teller Ipkiss, who discovers a mask that transforms him into a superhero … but one whom you may not want to call for help.

Warner Bros Discovery press release

As you probably could figure out by the title, the volume contains the complete first season of the show, though it doesn’t seem to have any extras or bonuses. It also doesn’t seem to have a physical launch on the way, as nothing is mentioned in the press release.

Still, it’s a classic TV show, and one that fans of The Mask in any form might want to check out. You can do that right now, by way of “Amazon Prime Video, AppleTV, YouTube, Fandango at Home and more”.
