Formerly a digital only series of games, the first three “Pixel Pulp” games have gotten a physical collection, but only in Europe.
Pulpy
If you’ve been waiting for a physical edition of LCB Game Studio’s Pixel Pulp games, your time is here. Well, it is if you’re in the European territory anyway, as the just-launched The Pixel Pulps Collection – Special Edition is limited to that area of the world.
From publisher Chorus Worldwide, the set includes Mothmen 1966, Varney Lake, and Bahnsen Knights. If you’re unfamiliar, all three of those are kind of visual, playable novels made in the style of classic PC titles from the 8bit age.
Scroll down to take a look at ’em in action.
Mothmen 1966
- A pair of young lovers, a gas station owner and a paranormal investigator, find themselves embroiled in a conspiracy taking place on the fringes of reality, where nightmare creatures roam and mysterious men dressed in black lurk…
Varney Lake
- Summer of 1954. Three friends and a perfect vacation. Games, crazy plans, bullies to avoid… Until they encounter the vampire! What really happened at Varney Lake?
Bahnsen Knights
- Tornado Alley, USA, 1986. Step into the shoes of Boulder, an undercover agent in the infamous religious sect of the Bahnsen Knights. Confront occultists, biblical storms, and an enigmatic car salesman turned preacher as you investigate the disappearance of your friend.
As we mentioned above, The Pixel Pulps Collection – Special Edition is only available in Europe. Out right now for the PS5 and Nintendo Switch, the set includes the title games, plus a slipcase and a set of three postcards.
