A Nintendo Direct is coming up tomorrow, but don’t expect any Switch 2 news

While it might be a big gaming-centric Nintendo Direct that’s coming up tomorrow, new consoles won’t be a part of it.

Directly to you

As the fractured, multi-week ‘not-E3’ of 2024 continues, Nintendo gets set to talk about a whole mess of new games. Both announcements and updates will likely be on tap tomorrow, with a just announced new Nintendo Direct presentation, which will be clocking in at an impressive 40 minutes long.

With an over half hour running time, we’re expecting a pretty solid list of games to be included in this one, and all of those titles will be coming to retail in the second half of this very year. Of course, as fans well know, there’ll likely be more than a few updates mixed in with any reveals too, meaning new info about stuff that we already know about. So be prepared for a melange.

One thing that will not be present at tomorrow’s event though, is the Switch 2… or whatever it’s going to be called. Nintendo’s next console, be it revision or wholly new, won’t be shown. We do have one interesting note to share with you as to its makeup though, and it’s that Nintendo specifically said there “will be no mention of the Nintendo Switch successor during this presentation.”

Note that wording: “Nintendo Switch successor”. We had heard through the grapevine that the next console served up by the company would be a bumped-up, ‘pro’ version of the current hardware, but that little above comment certainly has us thinking otherwise. Stay tuned Nintendo fans, there might be some big news coming up later this summer.

As for tomorrow’s show though, that’ll be kicking of at 10am eastern time, and you’ll be able to catch it either via Nintendo’s YouTube page here, or via the player below.
