Story with updates follows:

Rev your engines for today’s 12 Days of Fandom reveals. Mattel is taking the wraps off of a pair of Hot Wheels cars staring Darth Vader and Batman.

Darth and the Dark… Knight

We’re now 4 days into the 12 Days of Fandom event from Mattel, and we’ve seen a pretty wide range of collectibles. All of them will be heading exclusively to MattelCreations.com, the company’s online shop, as a tie-in with SDCC (@Home) 2021.

Today’s is just as different as yesterday’s, as it’s a pro of Hot Wheels cars. No, these aren’t just any pair of rides, as these are pop-culturified with the licenses of DC Comics’ Batman and Star Wars’ Darth Vader.

The Darth Vader-themed car features both a paint app, and blister card that reflect a classic Star Wars comic from Marvel. This is vintage stuff, as the cover in question is Star Wars #1, from way back in 1977.

Yes, it’s green, and yes it’s supposed to be.
