Nintendo Direct Super Smash Bros for Wii U

Earlier today there was a special edition of Nintendo Direct stream focusing on the upcoming release of Super Smash Bros for Wii U. It was essentially a compilation of 50 facts about the game and how it differs from the 3DS version that came out recently. Since there are fifty facts Nintendo presents and I want you to watch the whole video, this will just cover some highlights.

For starters, players will have access to more than forty unique fighters at the beginning of the Wii U version vs the 3DS. The Wii U version will also support up to 8 player matches, but only for particular stages and not online. While this is slightly disappointing, they are working on a mode to allow players to create/host tournaments and Nintendo is also planning on hosting tournaments. They have enhanced stages and add/changed some of the existing stages, such as making them larger and adding new features like danger zones. There is a new customization mode called Special smash; it allows players to modify and change the rules for battles to create whatever kind of ridiculous battle you and your friends want to have. A brand new addition is Smash tours, essentially a Super Smash Bros version of Mario Party. One of the best features is the ability to import your 3DS characters into the game. This just demonstrates how much Nintendo thinks about their customers.

These were just the facts that got me really excited. The full video is funny and entertaining to watch. I highly recommend checking it out. There are a lot of very cool additions and features that Nintendo has added the Super Smash Bros game and they appear to be for the better. Every Smash Bros fan should be anticipating the release of Super Smash Bros for Wii U. Official launch date is set for November 21, 2014.
