Resident Evil Revelations 2 to be episodic release; gets new trailer

Capcom’s upcoming Resident Evil Revelations sequel will be delivered episodically over the course of a month and definitely has the old RE charm.

Not too shabby huh?

This second return to form for the RE series stars Claire Redfield in a story the reportedly takes place between Resident Evil 5 and 6. Gamers will face off against ‘afflicted’ enemies (which certainly implies the usual RE viral baddie-source) and have to conserve ammo and check around all those dark corners if they want to make it through the whole game in one piece. That’s not all that deep as to what the title is actually about, but it’s all we know as far as narrative right now. We do know though, that there’ll be a few ways you can get your hands on this one.

Firstly, Revelations 2 will be released as 4 episodes across a month (yet to be announced) in early 2015. Each episode will have several hours of gameplay that’ll culminate in a cliffhanger ending and run $5.99 USD each. You can also grab all four for the cost of $24.99 USD in a bundle deal, which nets you a little extra content that you won’t get if you buy all of them separately.

Then when that’s all said and done, you can also expect to see a disc release hit stores, which’ll cost you $39.99 USD. No date on that one either as of yet, but Resident Evil Revelations 2 will be available for the Xbox One, PS4, Xbox 360, PS3, and the PC.
