You Don’t Know Jack quizzes up a Steam sale for anniversary

Believe it or not, You Don’t Know Jack is 18 years old this year. Jackbox Games, the developer of the venerable quiz game with the acid tongue, is celebrating in style too with the reissue of nine individual titles for the PC (via Steam) and one big sale.

“In September 1995, we launched YOU DON’T KNOW JACK Volume 1 and, somehow, our studio has become even less mature,” said Mike Bilder, GM, Jackbox Games. “But we continue to be humbled by the love millions of gamers still have for our franchise and we wanted to find a way to recognize and celebrate our fans at this meaningless milestone in our history.”

Yep, this one’s been around for a while. It’s actually pretty impressive that very little of the air has gone out of Jack’s sails over the years too. Not only has You Don’t Know Jack sold over 5 million copies on PC, its native home, but it’s also moved more than 4.5 million edition on mobile platforms. If you figure how long the PC versions have been available as compared to the mobile editions, then you pretty much have to come to the conclusion that mobile Jack is really taking off in a big, big way.

If you’ve been hankering for some classic (or current) YDKJ action, this is your week as all nine different versions of Spike TV’s ‘Social Game of the Year’ are on sale at a deep discount for Steam PC players.
